Theseatswitchisnormallyopenandcloseswhentheoperatorisontheseat.
IfthetractionsystemorPTOswitchisengagedwhentheoperatorraisesout
oftheseat,anoperatoradvisorywillbedisplayedontheInfoCenter.Theseat
switchanditselectricalconnectorarelocateddirectlyundertheseat.Testingof
theswitchcanbedonewithoutseatremovalbydisconnectingtheswitchwire
fromthemachinewireharness(Figure213).
TheToroElectronicController(TEC)monitorstheoperationoftheseatswitch.
TestingtheSeatSwitch
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,settheparking
brake,andshutofftheengine.
2.Beforeyoudisconnecttheseatswitchfortesting,ensurethatyoutestthe
switchanditscircuitwiringasaTECelectricalinputwiththeInfoCenter
display;refertoUsingtheInfoCenterDisplayforTroubleshooting(page
5–30).
3.IftheInfoCenterveriesthattheseatswitchandcircuitwiringarefunctioning
correctly,nofurtherswitchtestingisnecessary.
4.IftheInfoCenterdeterminesthattheseatswitchandcircuitwiringarenot
functioningcorrectly,proceedwiththetest.
5.EnsurethatthekeyswitchisintheOFFposition.Tilttheseatassemblyupto
getaccesstotheseatswitchelectricalconnections.
Note:Thereisashortwireharnessthatisusedtoconnecttheseatswitchto
themainwireharnessofthemachine.Thisseatswitchharnessisbetween
theseatandtheseatplate.
6.Disconnectthemachinewireharnesselectricalconnectorfromtheseat
switchharnesselectricalleadundertheoperatorseat(Figure213).
7.Connectamultimeter(ohmssetting)acrosstheseatswitchharness
connectorterminalstocheckthecontinuityoftheseatswitch.
A.Withnopressureontheseat,ensurethatthereisnocontinuitybetween
theharnessterminalsoftheseatswitch.
B.Pressdirectlyontotheseatswitchthroughtheseatcushion.Ensurethat
thereiscontinuitybetweentheharnessterminalsoftheseatswitchas
