7.Locateandremovethe2dowelpins(item13inFigure137)fromthebody.

Marktherelativepositionsofthegearteethandbearingblocksso
thatyoucanassembletheminthesameposition.Donottouchthe
gearsurfacesasresidueonhandsmaybecorrosivetogearnish.
8.Placethepumponitssideandpushontherearbearingblocktoremovethe
bearingblocksandgearsetfromthepumpbody.
Note:Thepressuresealsandback-upsealstinthegroovesmachinedinto
thebearingblocks.TheO-ringstinthegroovesmachinedinthepumpbody.
9.CarefullyremoveanddiscardtheO-rings,pressureseals,andback-upseals
fromthepumpbodyandbearingblocks.
Note:Donotdamagethemachinedgroovesduringtheremovalprocess.
10.Turnthefrontplateover,withsealsideup,andremovetheretainingring.
IMPORTANT
Ensurethatyoudonotdamagethecounterborewhenremovingthe
shaftsealfromthefrontplate.
11.Carefullyremovetheshaftsealfromthefrontplate(Figure139).Notethe
orientationofseallipsduringremoval.Discardtheseal.
12.Ifnecessary,removetheimplementreliefvalvefromthebackplate.Remove
anddiscardthesealingwashers.
InspectingtheGearPump
CAUTION
Useeyeprotectionsuchasgoggleswhenusingcompressedair.
1.Cleanallthepumppartswithsolventanddrythemwithcompressedair.
2.Inspectthedrivegear,idlergear,andbearingblocksforthefollowing.If
damageisfound,replacementofthegearpumpisnecessary.
A.Gearshaftsmustbefreeofroughsurfacesandexcessivewearatthe
bushingpointsandsealingareas.Replacethegearpumpifyoundany
scoring,roughsurfaces,orwearonthegearshafts.
B.Gearteethmustbefreefromexcessivescoringandwear.Replacethe
gearpumpifyoundbrokenornickedgearteeth.
