RemovingtheSteeringSelectorManifoldAssembly
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,shutoffthe
engine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
CAUTION
Beforeopeningthehydraulicsystem,operateallthehydraulic
controlstoreleasesystempressureandavoidinjuryfromthe
pressurizedhydraulicuid;refertoReleasingPressurefromthe
HydraulicSystem(page4–5).
2.ReadtheGeneralPrecautionsforRemovingandInstallingtheHydraulic
SystemComponents(page4–68).
3.Raiseandsupporttheoperatorseat.Locatethesteeringselectormanifold
assembly.
4.Cleanthehydraulichoseendsbeforeyoudisconnectthehosesfromthe
steeringselectormanifoldassembly.
5.Forassemblypurposes,labelallthehydraulichosesandtubesthatare
connectedtothettingsonthesteeringselectormanifold.
6.Disconnectthehydraulichosesfromthesteeringselectormanifoldassembly.
7.Installcleancapsorplugsonthedisconnectedhosesandttingstoprevent
contamination.
8.Disconnectthewireharnessconnectorfromthesolenoidcoilonthesteering
selectormanifoldassembly.
9.Supportthesteeringselectormanifoldassemblytopreventitfromfalling.
10.Removethe2screws(item3inFigure149)and2angenutsthatsecurethe
steeringselectormanifoldassemblytothemountplate.Removethesteering
selectormanifoldassemblyfromthemachine.
11.Ifthehydraulicttingsaretoberemovedfromthesteeringselectormanifold
assembly,markthettingorientationforassemblypurposes.Removethe
ttingsfromthesteeringselectormanifoldassemblyasnecessaryand
discardtheO-ringsfromthettings.
InstallingtheSteeringSelectorManifoldAssembly
1.Ifthehydraulicttingswereremovedfromthesteeringselectormanifold
assembly,lubricatenewO-ringswithcleanhydraulicuid,positionO-ringsto
thettings,andinstallthettingsintothemanifoldports;refertoInstallingthe
HydraulicFittings(SAEStraightThreadO-RingFittingintotheComponent
Port)(page4–9).
2.Positionthesteeringselectormanifoldassemblytothemachine.
3.Securethesteeringselectormanifoldassemblytothemachinewith2screws
(item3inFigure149)and2angenuts.
4.Removethecapsandplugsfromthehydraulichosesandttings.
5.LubricateandinstallnewO-ringsonthesteeringselectormanifoldassembly
ttings.Usingthelabelsthatyouattachedduringmanifoldremoval,correctly
connectthehydraulichosestothesteeringselectormanifoldassembly;
refertoInstallingtheHydraulicHoseandTube(O-RingFaceSealFitting)
(page4–8).
6.Connectthewireharnessconnectortothesolenoidcoilonthesteering
selectormanifoldassembly.
