TestingtheFusibleLinkHarness
1.EnsurethatthekeyswitchisintheOFFposition,disconnectthenegative
batterycablefromthebatteryterminal,andthendisconnectthepositive
cablefromthebattery;refertoServicingtheBattery(page5–110).
2.LocateandunplugthefusiblelinkconnectorP1fromthemachinewire
harness.
3.Useamultimetertoensurethatthecontinuityexistsbetweeneachterminal
pinintheconnectorP1andconnectorJ1atthestarter(Figure194).
4.Ifanyofthefusiblelinksareopen,replacethefusiblelinkharness.
Note:Beforeinstallinganewfusiblelinkharness,ensureanyconditionsthat
mayhavedamagedthefusiblelinkshavebeenidentiedandrepaired.
5.Afteryoucompletethetesting,ensurethatthefusiblelinkharnessconnectors
arecorrectlyattachedtothestarterandmachinewireharness.Connectthe
positivebatterycabletothebatteryterminalandthenconnectthenegative
cabletothebattery.
