RemovingtheAirCleanerSystem
Note:RefertotheOperator'sManualformaintenanceproceduresandintervals
oftheaircleaner.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,shutoffthe
engine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Unlatchthehoodandraiseit.
3.RemovetheaircleanercomponentsasshowninFigure8.
4.Examinetheaircleanerhousingandcover(items11and9inFigure8)for
wearordamagethatcouldcausepossibleairleaks.
5.Examinetheairhosesforwearordamageandreplacethehosesif
necessary.
6.Examinethehoodsealsforwearordamageandreplacethesealsif
necessary.
InstallingtheAirCleanerSystem
IMPORTANT
Leaksintheairltersystemwillallowdirttoenterintotheengine
andcancauseseriousenginedamage.Ensurethatalltheaircleaner
componentsareingoodconditionandareproperlysecuredduring
installation.
1.AssembletheaircleanersystemasshowninFigure8.
A.Ensurethatthevacuatorvalve(item8inFigure8)ispointeddownafter
installation.
B.Iftheserviceindicator(item13inFigure8)orpipenipplewereremoved
fromthehousing,applysealanttothethreadsofthenipple,torquethe
nippleto3.4N·m(30in-lb),andinstalltheserviceindicatorontothe
nipple.
2.Lowerthehoodandsecureitwiththelatches.
