Refer to the Strata DK40 Programming Manual or DK Library CD-Rom for more details.
Voice Mail System Installation
1. Ensure that the KSTU3, RSTU or PSTU PCB is installed in the system per Chapter 3 –
DK40 Universal Slot PCBs.
2. Connect the VM system to the selected KSTU3, RSTU or PSTU standard telephone
port. (Refer to Chapter 4 – DK40 Universal Slot PCB Wiring or Chapter 2 – DK40
Installation)
3. Program the Strata DK40 system for the required VM features. (Refer to “Toshiba
Stratagy or Stratagy DK Voice Messaging Systems” on Page 6-45, paragraph 3 and
“General Voice Mail (Standard Telephone Port) Programming” on Page 6-47.)
4. For DK40 ensure that a K5RCU is installed on the KSU and verify that the code 98 is
assigned for the Slot 00.
5. Perform additional VM system programming as applicable (refer to customer-supplied
installation/programming manuals).
PC/Data Communications Interface Units
The Strata DK40 supports one type of Data Interface Unit (RPCI-DI).
The RPCI-DI unit becomes part of the digital telephone, replacing the telephone’s base. Each
RPCI or PDIU is powered by the digital port to which it is connected.
The RPCI-DI can operate in the ‘Telephony Application Program Interface Mode’ (TAPI).
The RCPI operating mode is controlled by the PC connected to the RPCI-DI. Refer to the
PCIU Installation & Programming Guide and Chapter 5 – Station Apparatus, Integrated
Data Interface Unit (RPCI-DI) Installation for further details.
Notes
◆ “Digital Ports” include the PDKU digital station ports.
◆ The RPCI-DI is not supported on the DKT 2001-F Hand Set.
DK40 Alarm Sensor
The PIOU or PIOUS PCB provides a circuit that can be set to detect a relay open or closed
condition from a facility alarm system. When the sensor is activated, all electronic and digital
telephones sound an alarm signal. The electronic/digital telephone alarm signal can be reset
by any electronic or digital telephone with an $ODUP 5HVHW button (see Program 39 in the
Strata DK40 Programming Manual).
