ADJUSTING THE IES SENSITIVITY
When changing the IES seng,
consider the site design and vehicular
gate trac. It is recommended that
you use the most sensive seng
while sll allowing for reliable gate
operaon.
Examples of condions which aect IES sensivity include:
Gate design -
For long and/or solid gates in windy environments, large variaons in motor current may
occur. In these types of scenarios, you may want to use a higher (less sensive) IES seng.
Gate condion -
If the gate environment is near salty sea air, rusty wheels or chains might impede
gate travel over me. Addionally, gates that are hit and bent may have very s areas during travel that
cause a large variaon in motor current. For these issues, you may want to use a higher (less sensive)
IES seng unl repairs are made.
Gate maintenance -
Gate rollers will deteriorate and begin to fail over me. Gravel or dirt roads will
incur more debris in the gate rail or inverted V-track than a paved surface. In poorly maintained gate
areas, the chance for false IES trips is higher.
To adjust the IES sensivity, take the following steps:
1 At a gate status display, press the MENU
buon twice. Th
e CLOSE TIMER display
appears.
2 Simultaneously, press the OPEN and RESET
buons to enter the Installer Menu.
Release the
buons and the LEARN LIMITS display
appears.
3 Press NEXT unl the IES SENSITIVITY display
appears. The factory default seng is 2.
4 Use the SELECT and NEXT buons to navigate and change the number on the display.
5 To exit the Installer Menu, press the MENU buon. The gate status appears in the display
indicang you have returned to Run Mode.
If IES errors occur, SAFE MODE or ENTRAPMENT MODE will appear on the display. For more informaon
about troubleshoong, refer to “SmartDC Controller Troubleshoong” on page 151.
