HAZARDOUS MATERIALS AND PROPER DISPOSAL
The baeries used with the Kinec
gate operator contain materials that
are considered hazardous to the
environment. Proper disposal of the
baery is required by federal law.
Refer to federal guidelines found in
Hazardous Waste Regulaons.
Hazardous Materials and Proper Disposal
The Kinec operator uses sealed, state-of-the-art Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) baeries. Wallace Perimeter
Security highly recommends replacing used baeries with new AGM-type baeries.
To reduce the risk of injury to persons:
Observe the polarity between the baeries and charging circuit.
Never mix baery sizes, types, or brands. The charging circuit on Wallace Perimeter Security DC
operators is designed for AGM-type baeries, not lead acid-type baeries. Wallace Perimeter
Security strongly recommends that only sealed AGM style baeries be used.
Exercise care in handling baeries. Be aware that the metal found in rings, bracelets, and keys can
conduct electricity and cause other injuries. The material within baeries is toxic.
Do not open or mulate the baeries. Baery cells contain corrosive materials which may cause
burns; have a qualied service person make repairs to gate hardware to keep the gate running
smoothly.
Always dispose of baeries properly. Do NOT place baeries in re. The baery cells may explode.
Follow federal guidelines for proper disposal of hazardous waste.
Replace baeries according to the instrucons found in DC Baery Replacement.
