6. Assemble
1) Clean all the parts of the starting air
valve.
2) Put a small quantity of oil on the all the
parts.
3) Put new oiled O-rings (6) and (11) in
the housing (2).
4) Put the the valve spindle (10) into the
housing (2).
5) Put the compression spring (12) into
the housing (2).
6) Put the piston (9) in position on the
valve spindle (10).
Note: Do not apply any lubricant to the
thread of the valve spindle (10)
where the synthetic self-locking
nut (8) will go.
7) Attach the synthetic self-locking nut (8)
to the valve spindle (10).
8) Torque the self-locking nut to 600 Nm.
9) Tap the top of the valve spindle (10)
with a soft hammer. The valve spindle
must spring back to its initial position.
10) Attach the cover (1), together with the
solenoid valve (3), to the housing (2)
with the two screws (7).
7. Installation
1) Put a new gasket (13) in the bore in
cylinder cover (5),see Fig. 4.
2) Apply a thin layer of oil to the bore of
the cylinder cover (5).
3) Carefully put the starting air valve in the
cylinder cover (5).
4) Put the four screws (4) in position in the
cover (1) and tighten them crosswise.
