Electronic control system
Y-COP
Y-COP is composed of the key fob and EKS receiver.
The EKS receiver transmits an authorization ID to the Digital Electronic Control ECM. If the authoriza-
tion ID that is transmitted does not match the ID registered in the Digital Electronic Control ECM, then
the EKS receiver cannot communicate with the Digital Electronic Control ECM. When the lock button
and unlock button on the key fob are pressed, the EKS receiver authorizes the lock condition and un-
lock condition and transmits data to the Digital Electronic Control ECM. Even if no button operations
are done, when the key fob and EKS receiver are within range to receive transmissions, it is possible
to start and stop the engine. The lock condition and unlock condition are maintained even if the battery
switch is off.
TIP:
• A maximum of 5 key fobs can be registered to the EKS receiver.
• New key fobs cannot be registered without a proper key fob.
• The operating distance of the key fob and EKS receiver is within about 80 cm (2.6 ft).
• Attach receiver in a location where water will not get on it and there is no electromagnetic interference
or physical interference.
