Introducing the SMT
The System Management Terminal (SMT) provides a text-based, menu-driven
console to manage the P-792H v2. This chapter describes how to access the SMT
and then provides an overview of its menus.
23.1 Accessing the SMT
Use Telnet to access the SMT. Follow these steps.
1 In Windows, click Start > Run.
2 Type “telnet w.x.y.z”, and click OK.
w.x.y.z is the IP address of the P-792H v2; the default address is 192.168.1.1.
The P-792H v2 prompts you for the password.

3 Enter the password. The default password is 1234. As you type the password, the
screen displays an asterisk “*” for each character you type.
4 After you enter the password, the SMT main menu appears, as shown next.
