Immerse the RTD Probe in ice bath.
Perform a continuity check between any two similarly colored wires. Measured resistance should be 1 OHM or less.
Perform a continuity check between any two dissimilar colored wires. Measured resistance should be approximately
100 Ohms.
Perform a continuity check between the shield wire and any other wires. Measured resistance should be in the Mohm
range.
If any values are returned out of range. RTD Probe is defective:
- Replace the RTD.
7.3 Power Troubleshooting
7.3.1 Overview
This section focuses on determining what has caused the flow computer to lose power. Generally, loss of power can be
attributed to the power supply system. However, if the power supply system is used for powering a transceiver, or other
peripheral equipment, a problem with that equipment may drain the battery and cause the flow computer to lose power.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Notice that the Power Troubleshooting Flowchart (Figure 97:) takes the user through
several tests but also directs the user to the Communication Troubleshooting Flowchart located further in this
chapter.
