8 Pacing (Optional)

Noninvasive transcutaneous pacing is a Manual Mode function that is used to

deliver paced pulses to the heart. Paced pulses are delivered through multi-

function defib electrode pads that are applied to the patient’s bare chest.

This chapter explains the pacing option available with the Heartstream XL

and describes how to perform pacing.
