Default redirects 100 10 — Maximum of 100 redirect messages in 10 seconds
Parameters number — The maximum number of ICMP redirect messages to send. This parameter must be
specified with the seconds parameter.
Values 10 — 1000
seconds — The time frame in seconds used to limit the number of ICMP redirect messages that can be
issued.
Values 1 — 60

Syntax ttl-expired number seconds
no ttl-expired

Description This command configures the rate Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) TTL expired messages
are issued by the IP interface.
By default, generation of ICMP TTL expired messages is enabled at a maximum rate of 100 per 10
second time interval.
The no form of this command disables the limiting the rate of TTL expired messages on the router
interface.
Default ttl-expired 100 10
Parameters number — The maximum number of ICMP TTL expired messages to send, expressed as a decimal
integer. This parameter must be specified with the seconds parameter.

seconds — The time frame in seconds used to limit the number of ICMP TTL expired messages that
can be issued, expressed as a decimal integer.

unreachables
Syntax unreachables [number seconds]
no unreachables
Context config>service>ies>if>icmp
Description This command configures the rate for ICMP host and network destination unreachable messages
issued on the router interface.
The unreachables command enables the generation of ICMP destination unreachables on the router
interface. The rate at which ICMP unreachables is issued can be controlled with the optional number
and time parameters by indicating the maximum number of destination unreachable messages which
can be issued on the interface for a given time interval.
