Regular use
This axle has been designed and made for installation in
vehicles for agricultural purposes. It transmits power from
the engine to the wheels and also achieves:
• an increase in the vehicle's global lugging power;
• compensation of the speed of the inner wheels in rela-
tion to the outer ones when the vehicle is turned;
• high transfer speed with grate comfort and good driv-
ing quality.
•
Never install this axle in machines other than those for
which it has been designed and built.
Thanks to the particular suspension allows, it can be
used in three modes.
1. ACTIVE SUSPENSION: can be used in any load and
speed condition, if allowed by the sensitivity required
by some activity, e.g. front loader or active soil tilling in
rear draft control.
2. SUSPENSION LOCKED IN THE LOWEST POSITION: the
activation is recommended in case of heavy duty opera-
tion if the active suspension is not possible (see point 1).
SUSPENSION LOCKED IN THE HIGHEST POSITION: oc-
casional use in not heavy conditions. This position may
be used if the clearance under the front axle should be
increased, though not in heavy duty operation (such as
ploughing or soil tilling) and not in continuous mode.
GENERALLY:
• with suspended implements: active or suspension
locked in low position in case of heavy duty use;
• with towed implements: active suspension. If used
for purposes other than those envisaged, the axle is
considered to be subject to "improper use".
Argo Tractors declines all liability for damages or accidents
deriving from different uses from that envisaged. Such
consequences will be at the customer's sole charge.
Strict compliance with the operating instructions, plus the
regular maintenance indications and repairs specified by
Argo Tractors are an essential part of proper use.
Use of the front suspension
A suspended front axle (optional) ensures a greater driving
comfort as it improves shock absorbers operation both on
road and on field terrain, and increases vehicle stability
due to better contact with road surface.
The front axle position can be adjusted by the operator
to suit the work required (transport or work in the fields).
NOTE: Always turn the axle suspension mode OFF when
operating the tractor on slopes.
AUTO suspension mode
The front suspension engages AUTOMATICALLY as soon
as tractor speed is over 14 Kph (8.5 mph), regardless from
operation of the button (2) in the right instrument cluster.
The AUTO mode of the front suspension can also be
manually inserted by the operator by means of the
button (2) in the right instrument cluster, regardless of
tractor speed.
When the AUTO mode is active and tractor speed goes
under 14 Kph (8.5 mph), the AUTO mode remains active.
Press button (2) on the armrest to deactivate. When the
14 Kph limit is exceeded again, the electronic system man-
agement automatically activates the AUTO mode again.
If the AUTO mode is active, when the tractor engine is
stopped the axle remains blocked in the actual position
(generally in an intermediate position). When the tractor
engine is ignited again, the AUTO mode will not be ac-
tive and the axle will remain in the same position as in
that moment.
When the AUTO mode is active, to deactivate it is also
possible to adjust the axle position in the MANUAL mode.
In this case, press the button (1) in the instrument cluster
on the right side, as indicated at the side, and adjust the
axle position.
NOTE: With the engine off and the ignition key on 1, the
AUTO mode cannot be activated. The AUTO mode can
be activated, manually or automatically, only when the
engine is running.
MANUAL suspension mode
The position of the suspended axle can be adjusted manu-
ally by the operator, regardless of tractor ground speed,
by means of the button (1).
RAISE suspension (to increase ground clearance)
Press and hold the top of the button (1). Release the
switch when the required ground clearance is obtained.
LOWER suspension (to reduce ground clearance)
Press and hold the bottom of the button (1). Release the
switch when the required ground clearance is obtained.
