If the antenna VSWR exceeds 3:1 on your Becker Transceiver, consider the following potential causes and solutions: * **Counterpoise Issues:** A defective or insufficient counterpoise for the antenna may be the cause. Ensure the counterpoise is of sufficient size and free from mechanical defects. * **Antenna Cable Impedance:** The impedance of the antenna cable might significantly differ from 50 ?. Verify that the antenna cable has a 50 ? impedance. * **BNC Connector Problems:** Defective BNC connectors on the antenna cable can cause this issue. Ensure proper crimping/soldering on the BNC connectors.
