The design of the front part of GB primary shaft of tractors 9F/9R, equipped with the
reverse-reduction gear is shown in figure 3.3.2. It has the following differences as com-
pared to the above described GB 9F/2R with the mechanical gear reduction unit (figure
3.3.1).
Driven gear of reverse-reduction gear 3 (figure 3.3.1) is mounted on a smooth
neck of GB primary shaft front cantilever arm 34б and can rotate freely on the roller bear-
ing. Gear 3is in constant mesh with a big crown of intermediate gear of the speed re-
duction unit 31.
In front of reverse-reduction gear drive gear 35б a synchronizer 38 is mounted,
moveable carriage of which is always connected to GB primary shaft through spline bush-
ing 37 immovably mounted on it. To control the synchronizer is fork 39, and synchronizer
hub disc 38 goes into its groove.
Fork 39 with a roller has the possibility of axial movement in cup 36б hole of the
primary shaft. On roller 39 there are two transverse slots, in which spring mounted locking
ball 40. Slots provide roller 39 and fork connected to it with two locked positions.
Bearings of secondary shaft 6 are two taper roller bearings, one of which is located
in the boring of GB housing 29 and the second in cup 16, which is located in the boring
of the rear wall of GB housing 29 and is secured to it by means of bolts. In terms of design
the secondary shaft is made in one piece with the driven gear of the 1st stage of the range
speed reduction unit. Gear toothed crown is located in cantilever fashion in the front part of
secondary shaft 6. In the span between the bearings of the secondary shaft driven gear of
the 2nd stage of the range speed reduction unit 18 is mounted immovably on splines,
which is at the same time the drive gear of the rear PTO ground speed drive. On the rear
cantilever arm of the secondary shaft drive gear 17 of the rear axle main drive is immova-
bly mounted on splines (small bevel gear).
In the front part of hollow intermediate shaft 32 on its splines double-crown driven
gear of the 5
th
and 8
th
gears and reverse movement gears 28, drive gear of the 4
th
and 7
th
gears 27 are immovably mounted as well as driven gear of the 3
rd
and the 6
th
gears 26, on
the hub of which on needle roller bearing double-crown intermediate gear 25 freely rotates.
Gear 25 is in constant mesh with gear 25 (figure 3.3.2), providing for the possibility of en-
gagement of step-down and reverse movement gears through gear 26 as well as hydraulic
creeper (GHU) drive. In the rear part of secondary shaft 32 (figure 3.3.1) on its splines slid-
ing gear 23, drive gear of the 1st stage of the range speed reduction unit, is mounted.
Front bearing of intermediate shaft 32 is a roller bearing, located in cup 33 of the
front wall of GB housing 29. Rear bearing of the intermediate shaft is a bronze bushing,
installed in the boring of drive gear 23 of the 2nd stage of the range speed reduction unit.
Drive gear of the 2nd stage of range speed reduction unit 23 freely rotates on two
roller bearings, located in cup 22, which is installed in the boring of the rear wall of GB
housing 29 and secured to it by means of bolts. Gear 23 has inner and outer gear rings, as
well as cams located on its rear face end, which serve for rear PTO ground-speed drive. In
the boring of gear 23 seat 20 with bronze bushing is secured with a pin, which is a bearing
of inner shaft 19. Outside on gear 23 blade wheel 21 is secured, which by intensive spray-
ing improves lubrication of hub drive gears and tractor rear axle differential.
Bearings of the first speed and reverse shaft 27 (figure 3.3.2) are two roller bear-
ings, located in the borings of the GB housing. In the front part of shaft 27 on splines slid-
ing gear 26 is mounted, the gear of step-down gears and reverse movement gears. Shift-
ing of sliding gear 26 backwards until meshing with gear 27 (figure 3.3.1) allows to get
step-down gears of the forward movement, and shifting it forward reverse movement
gears. In the latter case gear 26 (figure 3.3.2) meshes with intermediate gear of reverse
movement 15, which is installed on axis 14 and rotates freely on it on needle roller bear-
ing.
Gear 15 is in constant mesh with a smaller gear ring of double-crown gear 28 (fig-
ure 3.3.1).
