1 – tyre; 2 – multifunctional “air-water” valve.
Figure 5.7.2 – Scheme of filling the tyre with water (water solution)
5.7.6 Procedure of partial release of water or aqueous solution from tyres
For partial liquid drain the following shall be carried out:
- unload the wheel with liquid: jack up the wheel so that it does not touch the ground;
- set the wheel in such a way that the valve is in the bottom position;
- screw out the spool valve and drain the water or non-freezing solution to the level
of valve lower position.
5.7.7 Procedure of complete release of water or aqueous solution from tyres
For complete discharge of liquid, remove the wheel off the tractor, clean and wash
it, and put it on a clean ground or wooden floor. Then proceed as follows:
- remove the valve cap and screw out the spool valve;
- discharge air from the tyre and drain the liquid;
- move both tyre beads off rim seats into its cave on the side opposite to the valve location;
- insert two tyre irons between a tyre bead and a rim on the side of the valve at ap-
proximately 100 mm on both sides of it;
- at first pull over through a rim edge a part of the bead near the valve, and then by
gradually moving the tyre irons along the rim’s circumference, remove the entire outer
bead of the tyre from the edge;
- remove the valve from the hole in the rim in such a way so as not to damage the tube
and not to tear off the valve;
- remove the tube from the tyre;
- drain the water out of the tube by squeezing it with hands;
- then mount the tyre on the wheel rim in compliance with assembly rules and with
the required safety measures;
- remove the cap off the valve and inflate the tyre with air to reach a normal pressure
according to the instructions of subsection 4.2.8 “Selecting of optimal inner pressure in tyres
depending on operational conditions and load on tractor axles, instructions for use of tyres”;
- mount the cap on the valve and fasten the wheel on the tractor.
5.7.8 Selection of inner tyre pressure
Internal air pressure in the tractor wheels tyres depends on their design, number of
cord plies, permissible vertical load on a wheel set out by the manufacturer and travel
speed. In case the operating conditions have been changed, it is required to adjust the tyre
pressure.
