2.15 Power take-off shafts control
2.15.1 General information
On tractors “BELARUS-80.1/82.1/820” of basic configuration rear power take-off
shaft is mounted:
Upon request a side –semi-continuous PTO can be mounted.
Additional information, on the rules of operation with power take-off shaft, which is
not included in present subsection 2.15, are given in subsection 4.2.7 “PTO use”
2.15.2 Rear power take-off shaft control
2.15.2.1 Lever shifting rear PTO from continuous drive to ground-speed drive
When you shift lever 11 (figure 2.1.2) to the leftmost position (along tractor) ground-
speed drive is engaged, to the right most position continuous drive, to middle “neutral”
position.
ATTENTION: ENGAGE REAR PTO GROUND-SPEED DRIVE ONLY FROM NEU-
TRAL POSITION WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AT LOWER GEARS OF I OR II GEAR-
BOX RANGES ON MOVING TRACTOR. OTHERWISE POWER TRANSMISSION CAN
BE DAMAGED! SHIFT GROUND-SPEED DRIVE OF THE PTO TO NEUTRAL IN THE
SAME WAY!
ATTENTION: ENGAGE PTO CONTINUOUS DRIVE FROM NEUTRAL POSITION
ONLY WITH DEAD ENGINE! SHIFT CONTINUOUS DRIVE TO NEUTRAL IN THE SAME
WAY!
2.15.2.2 Rear power take-off shaft engagement
Engagement of the rear PTO is possible only when lever 11 (figure 2.1.2) is shifted
in position “ground-speed drive of rear PTO is engaged” or in position “continuous drive of
rear PTO is engaged”. The rear PTO doesl not operate in "neutral” position.
Rear PTO switching lever 5 (Figure 2.1.2) has two positions:
- when lever 5 is shifted from the front most position to rearmost position, rear PTO
becomes engaged;
- when lever 5 is shifted from the rearmost position to front most position, rear PTO
becomes disengaged.
It is recommended to engage and disengage rear PTO with the engine running.
Note In figure 2.15.1 rear PTO engagement lever 1 is set to the position “rear
PTO is disengaged”.
