2.23 Fuel tank valves control

Fuel intake into the engine can be carried out from tank 3 (figure 2.23.10) or from
tank 4 or from the two tanks simultaneously.
When the engine is running fuel intake is done in the following way:
- if valve 1 is closed, and valve 7 is open, the fuel is supplied into the engine from
tank 4;
- if valve 7 is closed, and valve 1 is open, fuel is supplied into the engine from
tank 3;
- if both valves are open, fuel is supplied into the engine from two tanks simulta-
neously;
- if both valves are closed, fuel is not supplied into the engine.
If one of the valves or both valves are closed when the engine is not running, fuel
leveling does not occur.
The closed position of valve handles 1 and 7 is shown in figure 2.23.1. to open
the valve, it is necessary to turn the valve handle to the left (counterclockwise), 90
