1.4.3 Rod Source / Rod Detector Arrangement
For measuring geometries with an unfavorable ratio between mea-
suring range and the source - detector distance or with very thick
container walls, one can choose an arrangement with rod source
and rod detector to reduce the source activity (see Fig. 1-7). In this
case, the lengths of source and detector have to be adjusted to the
size of the measuring range to be covered.
The non-linearities obtained in the upper range of the characteristic
curve are compensated for by means of a correction line adjusted
to the measuring site and stored in the evaluation electronics. The
required tag-specific calculations will be provided by BERTHOLD
TECHNOLOGIES.
