Chapter 1 General Introduction
1.1. Intended Use
The P1 patient monitors, hereafter called the monitor, are intended to be used for
monitoring, displaying, reviewing, storing and alarming of multiple physiological
parameters of patients, including ECG, Heart Rate(HR), Respiration Rate(RR),
Temperature(TEMP), Pulse Oxygen Saturation(SpO
2
), Pulse Rate(PR), Non-invasive
Blood Pressure(NIBP), Carbon dioxide(CO
2
), Total Hemoglobin (SpHb),
Carboxyhemoglobin (SpCO), Methemoglobin (SpMet) and Invasive Blood Pressure(IBP).
The following functions are not applicable to neonates: Total Hemoglobin (SpHb),
Carboxyhemoglobin (SpCO) and Methemoglobin (SpMet).
The monitors are to be used in medical facilities by clinical professionals or under their
guidance. It can be connected with P series patient monitor, as a parameter module, and it
also can be used as a stand-alone monitor for the patient during transportation inside the
medical facilities.
WARNING:
The monitor is intended for use only by clinical professionals or under their
guidance. It must only be used by persons who have received adequate training
in its use. Anyone unauthorized or untrained must not perform any operations
on it.
1.2. Composition
The monitor is composed of main unit, main control software, battery, power adapter,
transfer handle, docking station, plug-in modules and corresponding accessories (CO2
measuring module and accessories, IBP measuring module, ECG cables, NIBP cuffs,
SpO2 sensors and temperature sensor).
