Adding and Arranging Widgets
You add widgets to a StudioWare panel by choosing one of the design
tools in the StudioWare toolbar and then clicking where you want to add
the widget.
To arrange or edit widgets, you must select them using the Select tool
. You select a widget by clicking on it with the Select tool. To select
additional widgets, hold down the Shift key while selecting. To toggle the
selection status of a widget, hold down the Ctrl key while selecting.
When you use one of the design mode tools to add a new widget, the
Select tool is chosen automatically after the widget is added to make it
simple for you to edit the widget.
When you select a widget, a rectangular border is displayed to indicate
its dimensions. When several widgets are selected you can resize or
move them as a group, but you can only alter the properties and visual
appearance of the one most recently selected. One exception: you can
change the color or bitmap for all selected widgets in a single step.
Like many other views, the StudioWare view has a snap-to grid option.
When this option is enabled, widgets that you move using the mouse will
snap automatically to a point on the grid. To enable the snap-to grid,
click the button in the toolbar. To change the grid size, Shift-click on
the button, and enter the desired grid size, in pixels, in the Snap to
Grid dialog box. The snap-to grid option is ignored when you move
widgets with the keyboard.
