Deleting Unused Audio Files
The Clean Audio Disk command is used to delete digital audio Þles in
the wavedata folder that are no longer used by any of your projects. You
should use this command from time to time to free up disk space.
This command searches all of your hard disks for project Þles, and then
compiles a list of all the audio Þles in your wavedata folder that are not
in use by any of these projects. You can then choose to delete these audio
Þles. Make sure that all of your important project (.wrk) Þles are stored
on your local hard disk(s) before using this command. If your project Þles
are stored elsewhere (removeable media, etc.), then you risk accidentally
deleting important audio Þles that are associated with your projects.
If you are using another utility program that protects you from
accidentally deleting important Þles (such as Norton Protect), you may
need to disable that program. Otherwise, the next time you use the
Clean Audio Disk command you may once again Þnd these not-quite-
deleted Þles.
To Change the Wavedata Folder…
1. Choose
Options-Audio
and click the Advanced tab.
2. Enter the name of the wavedata folder in the Data Directory box.
3. Click OK when you are done.
4. Use the Windows Explorer or some other program to move all
audio files from the old wavedata folder to the new wavedata
folder.
All audio files will be stored in the new wavedata folder.
Tip:
It is better to Þrst save the project as a bundle Þle, change the
wavedata directory, then open the bundle Þle. This ensures that all of
the audio data is properly moved to the new wavedata directory.
