SNMP – general information
The “Simple Network Management Protocol“ (SNMP) is a network protocol that controls and monitors
network elements (e.g. router, server, switches or SIP stations) from a central management station
. It
controls the communication between the monitored devices and the central management station. Fur
-
thermore, SNMP describes the structure of the data packets and the communication process.
The state of the monitored devices are detected by programs (“agents”) that run directly on the respec-
tive devices. By means of SNMP, the central management station can communicate with these agents
via the network.
OIDs
The device parameters of the DUETTO device, which are read out by the central management station,
are described in a “Management Information Base” (MIB). Consider the following requirements to read
out OIDs:
Supported SNMP version: SNMPv1 or SNMPv2c
Default SNMP port: 161
Community string: “public”
In the following table, the available OIDs to request the device parameters are listed:

NOTE: MIB monitoring tool required
In order to display these device parameters, a MIB monitoring tool is required. There are different MIB
monitoring tools that can be downloaded from the Internet.
