Broadcast definition
The DUETTO is able to send and receive multicast RTP audio streams. This section describes how to
configure up to ten multicast RTP streams for receiving. The configured RTP streams are played on the
internal speaker. Each of these RTP streams has a priority level between highest priority (1) and lowest
priority (10). If multiple RTP streams are received at the same time, only the highest prioritized stream
will be played. For further information about the interface of the DUETTO device
see page 93.

NOTE: Fade-out of multicasts by normal calls
Multicasts with priority levels 1 and 2 fade out normal calls. Multicasts with priority levels 3 to 10 will be
faded out by normal calls.
GOOD TO KNOW: What is RTP multicast?
An RTP multicast stream is an RTP stream with a multicast IP address as target address. These RTP/IP
packets are forwarded by the network switches to all ports and all connected network devices able to
receive those packets. To preserve network bandwidth, this method avoids unicast streaming (streaming
of audio to each receiver individually) by transmitting only one singular audio.
