Setup
Unpacking
Check carefully to ensure the scanner and any cables or accessories ordered are
present and undamaged. If any damage occurred during shipment, contact
Technical Support on page 2.
KEEP THE PACKAGING. Should the unit ever require service, it should be
re
turned in its original shipping container.
Setting Up the Scanner
Depending on whether you are using a Corded or Wireless version of the Gry-
phon, follow the steps provided in this section to connect and get your scanner
up a
nd communicating with its host:
1. Connect the Interface Cable to the scanner or to the Base Station as shown
in
Figure 3. To disconnect the cable, insert a paper clip or
similar object
into the opening shown.
2. Connect the other end to the Host (see the next section,
Connect Host Inter-
face on page 10
and Figure 4).
3. Modify "
Customizing Configuration Settings" on page 34
(only if modifications
are needed from factory settings).
NOTE
According to Regulation for shipping
Li-Ion based battery packs, the
products and their spare battery packs parts are shipped with a very low
residual charge (low state of charge).
Hence the needs:
• that a new product must be fully rech
arged before starting to use it
and
• that battery packs of the stocked prod
ucts GBT/GM45 and spare bat-
tery pack parts must be periodically
recharged : for instance by using a
WLC4090 cradle powered up with a 12V Datalogic AC/DC adapter (cod.
8-0935) for at least 30 minutes each 3 months.
