Reassembling the front fork
Caution
Before installation, smear the
sliding edges of the oil seal (23) with
fork oil or oil seal grease.
Tape the rim of the stanchion tube to
protect it from damage.
Fit the following components to the
stanchion tube:
- dust seal (22);
- retaining ring (29);
- oil seal (23).
Caution
Install the oil seal with the mark
facing the dust seal.
Fit the following components to the
stanchion tube:
- retainer (24);
- guide bush (25);
- stanchion tube bush (27).
Caution
Remove any burrs. Make sure
not to damage the outer coating of
the bush.
Tape dust seal and retaining ring
together to keep them out of the way
during the next operations.
Note
Before assembling these two
parts, smear the sliding surfaces of
the bushes with fork oil.
Push the guide bush (25) and the
spring cap (24) into the sleeve using
the oil seal tool (E, part no.
88713.1096).
Drive the oil seal (23) into the slider
using the same tool.
Fit the retaining ring (29) and the dust
seal (22).
Caution
The sleeve must slide freely on
the stanchion tube. Handle stanchion
tubes and outer sleeves with your
hands. Using any tools might damage
the oil seals and guide bushes.
Place the fork bottom end in a vice.
Fit the lower centering bush (7) into
damper cartridge end (8) and then fit
into the stanchion tube.

Importante
Prima di installare l’anello di
tenuta (23), lubrificare i bordi di
scorrimento con olio forcella o con
grasso per tenute.
Proteggere l’estremità del tubo
portante con nastro.
Installare i seguenti componenti nel
tubo portante:
- raschiapolvere (22);
- anello di fermo (29);
- anello di tenuta (23).
Importante
Installare l’anello di tenuta con
la superficie marcata rivolta verso il
raschiapolvere.
Installare i seguenti componenti sul
tubo portante:
- scodellino (24);
- boccola di guida (25);
- boccola (27) del tubo portante.
Importante
Eliminare eventuali bave e fare
attenzione a non rovinare il
rivestimento esterno della boccola.
Unire il raschiapolvere e l’anello di
fermo con nastro isolante per non
intralciare le operazioni successive.
Note
Prima di assemblare le due
parti, lubrificare le superfici di
scorrimento delle boccole con olio
forcella.
Spingere la boccola di guida (25) e lo
scodellino (24) nel fodero esterno
utilizzando l’attrezzo premi anello di
tenuta (E, cod. 88713.1096).
Spingere l’anello di tenuta (23) nel
fodero utilizzando la stessa
attrezzatura.
Installare l’anello di fermo (29) e il
raschiapolvere (22).
Importante
Il fodero esterno deve scorrere
liberamente sul tubo portante.
Supportare esclusivamente con le
mani i tubi portanti e i foderi esterni
per non danneggiare gli anelli di
tenuta e le boccole di guida.
Bloccare il supporto asse ruota in
morsa.
Installare la boccola di centraggio
inferiore (7) all’estremità della
