Threads
The appearance of the buttonhole i
s influenced considerably by:
• the thread used
• the use of different strengths for needle and looper threads
Gimp threads
The purpose of gimp is to stabilize th
e buttonhole and at the same
time make it flexible.
It should have the following characteristics:
• not too thick, but supple and firm
• even thickness
