8.6 How to Update the System Software
You can download the current software and chart for the NavNet 3D from www.nav-
net.com, if you use the "request update file" feature. This feature saves the information
(program and chart version numbers) about your system to a SD card. You load the
file saved to the SD card on your PC and open the NavNet homepage. Follow the in-
structions on the homepage to check your software and chart version numbers. If the
version on the homepage is newer, download and install the software updates. Use a
SD card of at least 2GB to do this procedure.
You can check your NavNet 3D version from the [My NavNet-General] menu.
Step 1: Export current status data from NavNet 3D to SD card
1. Put a blank SD card in a card slot of the Master MFD.
2. Open the [Files-General] menu and select [Request Update File]. The SD card
confirmation screen appears after you push the RotoKey.
3. Select Yes then push the RotoKey. The card is formatted, the file FURUNO Sys-
tem Diagram.sys is created and saved to the SD card. This may take several min-
utes.
After the message “The SD card has been initialized...” appears, remove the SD
card and use the RotoKey to select the OK button.
