12.3 AIS Target Symbols

12.4 Proximity AIS Target Alarm
The proximity AIS target alarm tells you (with the audio and visual alarms) when an
AIS target is within the distance you set here.
1. Press the MENU key to open the menu.
2. Open the [Alarm-Target] menu.
3. Use the RotoKey to select [Proximity AIS Target Alarm] then push the key to ac-
tivate (status icon is green) or deactivate the alarm.

Red The CPA and TCPA of a target put the tar-
get on a collision course.

An AIS target becomes a lost target if a
signal is not received from the AIS target

minutes. The lost target symbol is
erased if a signal is not received for an ad-
ditional ten minutes.
* The time depends on the AIS transpon-
der. For the FA-150, the time is 10 min-
utes. Check the operator manual for your
AIS transponder for information about lost
targets.
