Histogram The Histogram can display graphs of combined or separate channels (Figure
5-34). Highlight, shadow and gamma settings can be entered with a slider control numeri-
cally. You can see when clipping occurs in the shadow or highlight areas.
Sharpness The four sharpness controls, are Amount, Radius, Threshold and Dark Limit (Figure
5-35). Apply checkbox to turn effect on or off. Presets Default, Medium, and High are also
available.

Amount controls the strength of the sharpening effect with a value between 80 and 200 a
recommended starting point depending on the type of image.
The Radius setting depends on the nature of the image and the resolution with a large radius
generally used with high resolution images.
Threshold controls the point above or below which pixels are affected. Low settings will
sharpen most pixels but may create noise in soft texture. Higher settings restrict the
changes to detailed areas.
Dark Limit sets the brightness level below which the fi lter has no effect. A setting between
0 and 20 is recommended for most images with a higher number producing a less exten-
sive sharpening effect.
IPTC Core and IPTC Keywords You can select whether to see a long, medium, or small list
displayed in the window and edit the information in each preset list. This allows keywork
inclusion in the Metadata.
Job Information You can chose the desired destination folder, enter a new fi le name, enter
the desired numerals as part of the next sequence number, and see the information at the
time of capture which is part of the metadata.
Lens correction Chromatic Aberration, Distortion, and Vignetting are the available tools with
Chromatic Aberration and Distortion working in the background while Vignetting is set
by a slider control.
