3.4 Removing Cables from a PSU
Step 1 Wear an ESD wrist strap. For details, see 12 Preventing Electrostatic Discharge.
Step 2 Determine the rack number and chassis number of the server to be removed, and label its
panel to prevent misoperations.
Step 3 (Optional) If only one PSU is configured, power off the server. For details, see 3.2 Powering
Off the Server.
When two PSUs are configured, you can remove the power cable from one PSU without
powering off the server if the other PSU is operating properly and its power rating is greater
than or equal to the power rating of the server.
Step 4 Undo the velcro strap that secures the power cable. See Figure 3-5.
