iSCSI host attachment examples
Here we show some examples of the iSCSI host attachment
Figure 4-27 shows the simplest iSCSI host connection with one host connecting to a single
controller DS3500 storage subsystem through a gigabit ethernet switch.

Figure 4-28 on page 118 shows a configuration with redundant host side connections. There
are redundant paths between the host server and the gigabit ethernet switch, and redundant
paths between the switch and the single controller DS3500 storage subsystem. In this
example, the DS3500 controller and the gigabit switch are the two single points of failure.
Best practise: Although this is a valid supported configuration, there is no redundancy on
the host-side connections. Best practise is to always use redundant host side connections.
