7. The status of the newly imported array is reported as Optimal in the Storage Manager
logical tab, as shown in Figure 14-114.

8. You will now need to create host to logical drive mappings for the logical drives associated
with the newly imported array.
14.9 Maintenance - Persistent reservations
The Persistent Reservations option lets you view and clear logical drive reservations and
associated logical drive registrations. Persistent reservations, which the cluster server
software configures and manages, preserve logical drive reservations and logical drive
registrations. Persistent reservations also prevent other hosts from accessing the logical
drive. Unlike other types of reservations, a persistent reservation is used to perform the
following functions:
򐂰 Reserve access across multiple host ports—Provide various levels of access control
򐂰 Query the storage array about registered ports and reservations
򐂰 Provide for persistence of reservations in the event of a storage system power loss
Note: This function should normally only be used under the guidance of your IBM
Customer Support representative.
