The instrument also responds to other types of resets. These resets include: 
  Password reset: This resets the instrument password to its default value. You can reset the 
password by pressing the MENU key and under System, selecting Settings > System 
Password. The default password is admin. For more information, see Instrument access (on 
page 3-1). 
  LAN reset: This resets the LAN settings and the instrument password to the system default 
values. You can reset the password by pressing the MENU key, selecting Communication (under 
System), selecting LXI LCI, and pressing the ENTER key. 
  Status preset: This resets all bits in the status model. If you are using the SCPI command set, 
refer to :STATus:PRESet (on page 7-105). 
 
Reset the instrument 
You can reset many of the instrument settings to their default values. For details about what gets 
reset, see Reset default values (on page 2-88). Default values are also listed in the individual 
command descriptions. 
To reset the instrument using the front panel: 
1.  Press the MENU key. 
2.  Under system, select Manage. 
3.  Select System Reset. 
4.  The commands are reset and a confirmation message is displayed. 
To reset the instrument using SCPI commands: 
Send the command: 
:SYSTem:PRESet 
 
Reset default values 
When you turn instrument power on and off or send a reset command, many of the settings in the 
instrument are reset to their default values.   
The settings that are affected are listed in the following tables. The tables show SCPI and front-panel 
values for each setting. They are grouped by function and sorted alphabetically in each group by the 
name of the SCPI command.
