Function Details
Compliance
Compliance
Compliance is the output limiter to prevent damage to the test device from
overcurrent, overvoltage, or overpower. Voltage compliance is for the current output
channels, and current compliance is for the voltage output channels.
When a channel reaches compliance, the channel acts as a constant voltage source or
a constant current source. The channel keeps the output value when reaching
compliance.
Compliance can be set with the same resolution and accuracy as output current or
output voltage. For the values, see Data Sheet.
Polarity and Output Area
• Polarity of current compliance
The Keysight E5260/E5270 automatically sets current compliance for both
positive and negative polarity. For opposite polarity as the output voltage, the
compliance value is increased by an amount that is 2.5 % to 12 % of the range
value in the lowest range that covers the specified compliance value. See Figure
6-1.
• Polarity of voltage compliance
The Keysight E5260/E5270 automatically sets voltage compliance to the same
polarity as the output current. There is no compliance for opposite polarity.
