15. Unscrew the 4 bolts that hold the transversal beam in place (2 on each side).

16. Remove the transversal beam by sliding it out.
17. Remove the worn-out wear pad.
NOTE: The wear pad is not bolted to the transversal beam.
18. Check the compression rubber inside the beam (under the scraper). Replace if needed.
19. Install a new wear pad.
20. Put the transversal beam back in place.
21. Reinstall the transversal beam retaining bolts (2 on each side).
22. Check for even contact between the new wear pad and the packer/follower panels.
23. Put the 3 carriage bolts back in (see Figure 3-248).
24. Put back the deflector panel (see Figure 3-248).
25. Start the engine and engage the hydraulic pump.
26. Fully retract the packer.
27. Turn OFF the hydraulic pump and the engine.
28. Lock out and tag out the vehicle (see Locking Out and Tagging Out the Vehicle on page 14).
29. Reinstall the chute (use Step 4 on page 57 in reverse order).
30. Reinstall the divider guard.
31. Reinstall the hopper divider.
32. Reinstall both anti-spill guards.
Danger!
Do not enter the hopper while the packer is moving.
