19.1 Safe Torque O (STO)
The motor cannot generate torque and movements of the drive.
DANGER!
Automac restart if the request of the safety funcon is deacvated.
Possible consequences: Death or severe injuries
You must provide external measures according to EN ISO 13849−1 which ensure that the
driv
e only restarts aer a conrmaon.
DANGER!
The power supply is not safely disconnected.
Dea
th or serious injury due to electrical voltage.
Turn o the power supply.
Precondions
Moon caused by external forces must be prevented by addional measures such as mechani-
c
al braking.
The restart must be set. See chapter .
Details
Safe disconnecon of the drive
1.A safety sensor requests the safety funcon.
2.The pulse width modulaon is safely switched o by the safety unit.
The inverter switches to the STO acve device status (0x6041, Bit15 = 0).
The power drivers do not generate a rotang eld anymore.
The motor is safely switched to torqueless operaon (STO).
The
funconal principle depicted applies to Basic Safety (STO) and Extended
Safety. The terminals shown apply to Basic Safety.
