7.10 Dancer control
The feedforward control takes place via the line speed signal, which is mulplied
by the reciprocal value of the actual diameter.
In the case of the dancer control, the drive is operated in speed control mode. The dancer
posion is recorded and compared to the setpoint posion. If a deviaon is detected, the
dancer control corrects the speed setpoint.
The dancer control has a classic PI structure. The control is enabled by seng bit 18 of the

As long as bit 18 = FALSE, the system deviaon remains 0 and the ramp generator for the
dancer posion setpoint is also loaded with the starng value 0.
In the case of a highly quansed actual dancer posion, PT1 ltering can have a posive eect
on the stability of the control loop. If high dynamic performance is required, dead mes in the
control loop must be avoided. The lter me can be opmised in the parameter PT1 lter

The correcng variable of the PI controller is fed via a limiter, which makes it possible to set
limits via the parameters Dancer control upper output limit and Dancer control lower output
limit.

The
correcng variable has an addive eect on the main speed path setpoint. The inuence
of the parameter Eecve dancer control inuence has a mulplicave eect on the correct-
ing variable of the PI controller and denes the correcon value’s maximum permied eect.
