7.8 Diameter esmaon before dancer moon
When the winding process is started with a wrong diameter, neither the speed feedforward
c
ontrol value nor the gain adaptaon of the speed controller will be adapted. This leads to
instability in the winding process.
In the case of systems that are switched to reels whose diameter is unknown or not input by
the machine operator:
The s
tart diameter must be detected by a diameter sensor.
The idencaon run described in the following must be executed.
The resulng
circumferenal speed of the reel must be used for the diameter calculaon.

Precondions for the idencaon run
The speed mas
ter of the system is at standsll: Line speed = 0.
The ma
terial length stored in the dancer plus the available dancer stroke available for the
idencaon must be sucient such that, even at maximum diameter, it is possible to per-
form a winding sha movement of at least 2x the rapid diameter calculaon cycle Number

The dancer is in the lower limit posion (maximum material length saved in dancer).
The maximum material length stored in the dancer is congured in [mm] in the parameter

The dancer limit posions are parameterised such that the
posion at the output Eecve
actual dancer posion is output scaled from -100.00% to +100.00%. 40x5052:189
The parameters for the movement during the idencaon run are adapted to the
mechanical circumstances.
