7.3.1 Source for line speed
The line speed signal can be transmied from various sources in the technology applicaon.
When using the technology applicaon with another i950 product series inverter that deter-
mines the speed of the machine, the mas
ter value is transmied via the system bus. Line
velocity source 40x5020:020 Selecon [3]
In the technology applicaon, the line speed signal is scaled to [mm/s] with 4 decimal places.
If the posion unit of the master is not the unit [mm], the unit can be adapted via the numer-
ator-denominator evaluaon.

Example:
The speed-determining drive is the master of a machine. The master operates with a rotary
measuring s
ystem and a feed constant of [360°/r]. The speed in [°/s] is transmied via the sys-
tem bus to the winder. A single output-end revoluon of the master conveys the material by
194.7787 [mm] per revoluon in the direcon of material ow. This distance corresponds to
the circumference of the feed roll or the measuring wheel. This results in a factor of 1:1.
