Q Breaking in your new Lexus
To extend the life of the vehicle, observing
the following precautions is recommended:
O For the first 300 km (200 miles):
Avoid sudden stops.
O For the first 800 km (500 miles) (with
towing hitch):
Do not tow a trailer.
O For the first 1000 km (600 miles):
• Do not drive at extremely high speeds.
• Avoid sudden acceleration.
• Do not drive continuously in low gears.
• Do not drive at a constant speed for
extended periods.
Q When driving in an extremely cold envi-
ronment
In an extremely cold environment, idle the
engine for more than 30 seconds after
starting the engine. Do not race the engine
while idling.
Q Idling time before stopping the engine
To prevent damage to the turbocharger,
allow the engine to idle immediately after
high-speed driving or driving up a hill.
Vehicles with Stop & Start system: To allow
the engine to idle when the vehicle is
stopped, disable the Stop & Start cancel
switch. (oP.124)
(With the Stop & Start system enabled, the
engine will be stopped by the Stop & Start
system when the vehicle is stopped.)
