5-3. Using the air conditioning system and defogger
Interior features

Press the automatic mode switch
on the air conditioning control
panel.

Press the outside/recirculated air
mode switch to switch to automatic
mode. (if equipped)

Adjust the temperature setting.

To stop the operation, press the
“OFF” switch on the air condition-
ing control panel.
If the fan speed setting or air flow
modes are operated, the automatic
mode indicator goes off. However,
automatic mode for functions other
than that operated is maintained.
Q Using automatic mode
Fan speed is adjusted automatically
according to the temperature setting and
the ambient conditions.
Therefore, the fan may stop for a while until
warm or cool air is ready to flow immedi-
ately after the automatic mode switch is
pressed.
Cool air may blow around the upper body
even when the heater is on due to sunlight.
Q Automatic mode for air intake control
(if equipped)
In automatic mode, the system detects
exhaust gas and other pollutants and auto-
matically switches between outside air and
recirculated air modes. When the dehu-
midification function is off, and the fan is
operating, turning automatic mode on will
activate the dehumidification function.
To turn on the “SYNC” mode, select
the “SYNC” switch on the air condi-
tioning control screen.
WARNING
Q To prevent the windshield from fog-
ging up
Do not use the windshield defogger
switch during cool air operation in
extremely humid weather.
The difference between the temperature
of the outside air and that of the wind-
shield can cause the outer surface of the
windshield to fog up, blocking your
vision.
Q When the outside rear view mirror
defoggers (if equipped) are operat-
ing
Do not touch the rear view mirror sur-
faces when the outside rear view mirror
defoggers are on.
Q nanoe™ X (if equipped)
Do not disassemble or repair the gener-
ator because it contains high voltage
parts. Contact your Lexus dealer if the
generator needs repair.
NOTICE
Q To prevent battery discharge
Do not leave the air conditioning system
on longer than necessary when the
engine is not running.
Q To prevent damage to the nanoe™ X
(if equipped)
Do not insert anything into the air outlets,
attach anything to it, or use sprays
around the air outlets. These things may
cause the generator not to work prop-
erly.

seats simultaneously (“SYNC”
mode)
