Pull the parking brake switch to

Vehicles with fingerprint authenti-
cation system and fingerprint
authentication system is on:
Authenticate by touching the fin-
gerprint sensor on the engine
switch using your finger (fingerprint
information must have already
been registered). (oP.112)
The buzzer will sound (a short beeping
sound) if fingerprint authentication is suc-
cessful.
Fingerprint authentication may fail if you
move too quickly or if you slide your finger
while pressing.
Press the engine switch quickly but
fully.
When the vehicle has a fingerprint authen-
tication system and the fingerprint authen-
tication system is on, the buzzer will sound
(a short beeping sound) after fingerprint
authentication is successful. Press the
engine switch within approximately 5 sec-
onds of this happening. If this is not done
quickly enough, fingerprint authentication
will need to be performed again.
When operating the engine switch, one
short, firm press is enough. It is not neces-
sary to press and hold the switch.
The engine will crank until it starts or for up
to 30 seconds, whichever is less.
Continue depressing the brake pedal until
the engine is completely started.
Diesel engine only: (engine preheat-
ing indicator) turns on. The engine will start
after the indicator light goes out.
The engine can be started from any engine
switch mode.
