Driving
son, the engine switch illumination illumi-
nates brighter.
O When the engine switch is in ACC or
ON, the engine switch illumination illumi-
nates.
O When the engine switch mode is
changed from ACC or ON to OFF, the
engine switch illumination illuminates for
a certain amount of time. Afterwards, the
engine switch illumination turns off.
Q If the engine does not start
O The engine immobilizer system may not
have been deactivated. (oP.107)
Contact your Lexus dealer.
O If a message related to start-up is shown
on the multi-information display, read the
message and follow the instructions.
O If the door is unlocked with the mechani-
cal key, the engine cannot be started
using the smart entry & start system.
Refer to P.610 to start the engine. How-
ever, if the electronic key is carried inside
the vehicle and the doors are locked
(oP.144), the engine can be started.
Q If the battery is discharged
The engine cannot be started using the
smart entry & start system. Refer to P.611 to
restart the engine.
Q Fingerprint authentication
O Fingerprint authentication certification
may take some time depending on the
amount of registered fingerprint informa-
tion.
O When touching the fingerprint sensor,
ensure that your finger covers the entire
surface of the sensor. Touching the sen-
sor with your fingertip or the side of your
finger may prevent authentication.
O Touch the sensor slowly. Touching too
quickly or strongly, or sliding your finger
along the sensor while touching may pre-
vent normal recognition.
O If it is difficult to press the engine switch
(for example, if the nail on your finger is
too long), first perform fingerprint
authentication. Once that has suc-
ceeded, release your finger and then
press the engine switch with another fin-
ger.
O If fingerprint authentication fails, a mes-
sage “Push Sensor with Already
Registered Finger Again Slowly” will be
displayed on the multi-information dis-
play.
O If fingerprint authentication fails 3 times
in a row, a message “Press brake pedal
and touch engine switch with key” will be
displayed on the multi-information dis-
play.
O If it is unknown which user registered
their fingerprint information, or if finger-
print authentication is not successful, hold
the electronic key close to the engine
switch while depressing the brake pedal,
and then press the engine switch.
