Drain plug
The water in the fuel filter needs to be
drained if the warning message is
shown on the multi-information display
and a buzzer sounds (if equipped).

Turn the engine switch off.
Place a small tray under the drain
plug to catch the water and any fuel
that comes out.
Q To prevent inhaling dust
Wear a respirator when using com-
pressed air to clean the air cleaner filter.
Q To prevent damaging the engine
O Do not drive with the air cleaner filter
removed. Doing so causes excessive
engine wear.
O Do not hit or drop the filter, as it may
contain dust or sand etc.
Draining the fuel filter water
(diesel engine only)
You may drain the fuel filter your-
self. However, as the operation is
difficult, we recommend having it
drained by your Lexus dealer. Even
if you decide to drain it yourself,
contact your Lexus dealer.
