2.3.4 Tool Life Management I ("#1096 T_L type" is 1)
The TOOL LIFE DATA screen will appear when the menu [LIFE] is pressed.
Tool life management is valid when parameter "#1103 T_Life" is set to 1. Tool life management is then
carried out according to the tool usage time or the No. of times the tool is used (also called count). When
the tool usage time reaches the service life time, or when the tool count exceeds the service life count, a
tool life expiration signal (X62E) is output to the user PLC and the tool No. (#) is highlighted on the TOOL
LIFE DATA screen.
Tool life management is possible for up to 80 tools (tool Nos. 1 to 80).
This function is useful for setting tool abrasion and wear data, and for knowing when to replace tools with
new ones, etc.
