1.3 Nomenclature
This section gives the name of each part of the Drive/Detector unit and Display unit.
■ Drive/Detector unit and Display unit
The SJ-301 consists of the display unit and drive/detector unit. The drive/detector unit can be
safely stored in the compartment inside the display unit.

TIP For information about connection between the Drive/Detector unit and Display unit
refer to “3.2 Attaching and Detaching the Drive/Detector Unit”.
NOTE Check the drive unit used and the drive unit settings in the display unit before using
the unit. If there is an error in setting the drive unit, an error message such as
“DRIVE ERROR 1” and “OVERRANGE” may appear, disabling measurement. For
information about the drive unit setting, refer to “5.12 Setting the Drive Unit”.
