11.2 Detector Retraction Procedure and Cancellation
If the SJ-301 will be stored for an extended period of time or if it will be moved to another
location, the Detector should be retract to prevent damage to the Detector or the workpiece.
IMPORTANT Do not retract the Detector if the optional extension rod is used. The Drive unit
may be easily damaged if a force is applied to the tip of the extended Detector.
If the Front Escape function type drive unit is used, the Retract function is not
available.

NOTE If the power is on or if the Front Escape function type drive unit is used, the Retract
function is not available.
When the power is off, press the POWER switch while holding down the [START/STOP]
key on the Display unit.
The Detector will start to retract. Retraction in progress is indicted by a bar on the touch
panel.
Detector Retraction
The Home screen will be restored upon completion of retraction.
NOTE If the AC adapter is used or if the auto-sleep function is set to OFF, the power is
turned off.
Press the [POWER] key to turn off the power.
With auto-sleep set to ON, if key operation is not performed for more than 5 minutes
after the detector retraction, the power turns off with the auto-sleep function.
